Charm Offensive by Jean-Louis Triaud

Bordeaux president, Jean-Louis Triaud, has been talking to the Press today about the “great possibility” that hot prospect Gabriel Obertan might join Manchester United.
It’s hard at this stage to know if this talk has any substance as far as Manchester United are concerned or whether this is just a Club President angling for a slice of the £80 Million we got from the Ronaldo sale but all will be revealed in the fulness of time.
Besides, whilst this is interesting news, it is not the reason for this post.
No, it concerns another Bordeaux player, Marouane Chamakh, who has apparently been the subject of a £13 Million bid from Sunderland.
Triaud had this to say:-
“We never received an offer. What the f*** would he do at Sunderland? You have heard him say he will only sign for a big English club. I don’t want to insult Sunderland but I don’t even know where they finished last season.”
You have to admit, it’s pretty funny and this is Triaud trying to be tactful!
In fairness, it must be said that there probably aren’t many Sunderland fans who know where Bordeaux finished last season either.

Don’t be bitter, And don’t compare Bordeaux and shifty Sunderland.
Bitter? Rarely. Ironic? Sometimes.
Sunderland should try to sign players who belong their own league. Chamakh is highly rated and there is no way on earth he would play for sunderland. Bruce should have kept Cisse. He’s quite good at hitting pigeons who fly over the stadium, when he shoots the ball.
